"We wanted to do a film in a way that will pass our music in a visual medium. We wanted people to "see” this music and its story in more dimensions beside sound. Something in the Dead Sea was very attractive and fit very well with our sound and artistic vision." Gepaart mit gefilterten Gitarren, tiefen Bässen und gepitchten Vocals entsteht eine wabernde Klanggalaxie, die aber immer den Kontakt zum benachbarten Popkosmos sucht. https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=19742 http://tifimusic.com https://www.facebook.com/fingersmusic https://www.facebook.com/Holydrugcouple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWvhPqc7wT8 Präsentiert von VISIONS Magazin, FUZE Magazine, laut.de, ByteFM, hhv Records, Get Addicted & Off The Road Studios Hafenklang Thu, 25 May 2017 00:00:00 26.05.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: Bongzilla (US, Sludge, Relapse Records) + Confusion Master (Rostock) https://de-de.facebook.com/Bongzilla/ https://bongzilla.bandcamp.com/ https://soundcloud.com/majorenslaver/confusion-master-buried-alivevenom-live-16032016 https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=19897 Hafenklang Fri, 26 May 2017 00:00:00 26.05.2017 Hafenklang| Goldener Salon: Clap Your Feet presentiert : LEVITATE ME! The Ruts had had three whirlwind years of success and much critical acclaim. The Ruts were without doubt the best of the original punks who dubbed it up. When tragedy struck and the band split it wasn’t long before the booming rhythm section of Dave Ruffy and John’Segs’Jennings came forward with The Ruts DC (DC from the Latin De Capo meaning’ from the beginning’) their strong early roots reggae and dub influences coming to the fore. The resulting Dub album "Rhythm Collision Vol. 1” was recorded with the then relatively unknown dub specialist Mad Professor and is still in demand. Both Ruffy and Segs , who have been described as Europe’s Sly and Robbie (no small boast considering their playing skills are matched by their far ranging production skills!)have since had wide and varied careers both in live bands and in the studio. On 16th July 2007 the Ruts reformed for the first time in 27 years for a one off benefit for Paul Fox the original guitarist following his diagnosis with lung cancer. Henry Rollins took over vocal duties and they were supported by The Damned, Misty In Roots, UK Subs ,Tom Robinson, John Otway and more. This was described as ”the best punk gig of all time” by The Times and proved the rhythm section as strong as ever and will remain in London gig legend forever. http://rutsdc.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/RUTS-DC/174918915866939?ref=ts&fref=ts https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=20007 Hafenklang Sun, 28 May 2017 00:00:00 29.05.2017 Hafenklang| Goldener Salon: Punkerstammtisch - Tischtennis-Rundlauf Eintritt frei! Hinzu kommen zahlreiche Festivalauftritte, unter anderem bei 'Frost And Fire', 'Defenders Of The Old' und 'Maryland Death Fest’s Days Of Darkness' in Amerika, 'Up The Hammers' in Griechenland, 'Pounding Metal' in Spanien, 'Very ‘Eavy' in den Niederlanden und 'Keep It True', 'Rock Hard' und 'Party.San Metal Open Air' in Deutschland. Peelander-Z tour extensively, mostly in North America, Japan and Europe. Their innumerable past performances at major national festivals such as Bonnaroo Music Festival, Warped Tour, FunFunFun Music Festival, Voodoo Music Festival, Riot Fest, and Comic-Con’s conventions nationwide, as well as appearances on VH1’s Best Week Ever, Comedy Central’s Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and Spike TV’s MXC: Most Extreme Challenge have provided them with a national and international following. Additionally, one of their song E-I-E-I-O has been featured on a commercial ad of T-mobile recently. Also, a feature documentary about Peelander-Z entitled "Mad Tiger” screened in the world this year and it’s now on Netflix in the US. These four dress up in color-coordinated costumes about as if they came out of Japanese Animation (claim those are not costumes, but the skin!!!) put on a fun entertainment. Yes, their performance is not just playing music. Have you heard of human bowling, wrestling and kung-fu action, or funny dance at the punk rock show? After a series of precarious fits and starts, the band coalesced into a semi-stable entity known as "Puff Pieces” in 2013, and began playing shows. Based on their experiences in various now-defunct bands (Amanda and Mike in Vertebrates, and Mike and Justin in Antelope), and long-term involvement in D.C.’s punk and noise scenes, Puff Pieces strives to destroy the bland hegemony of their city’s condo-crazed culture with a catchy mix of melody and nervous dissonance. To the contrary, Heaters are operating at a higher horsepower than ever before, as evidenced by the 2016 release of "Baptistina.” "Baptistina” glimmers to a greater degree than anything Heaters have previously unleashed, a full-spectrum sheen that shines across the full panorama of righteous reverb riots. Heaters are in full control of their machine from the opening, looped-lunacy of "Centennial” to the final crash of "Seafoam,” forty-six minutes later – and yet the result of this increase in control can be heard as a willingness to crash their ship completely. The band was founded by Kamal Rasool and now consists of Rasool, Sam Rowe, Charles Prest, Karthik Poduval and Craig Doporto. Based in both the UK and Bahrain, the band has carried out operations online as much as in person. The group puts a focus on exploration and experimentation, often taking influence from different cultures around the world by use of an extensive collection of instruments from as far as Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey, Japan and Tanzania. Floating near the western shores of the Persian Gulf is the Kingdom of Bahrain, the desert country where Charles Prest, Sam Rowe, Craig Doporto and Kamal Rasool grew up together, joining forces on various musical projects and detangling myriad influences from other lands and times. At the same time Karthik Poduval, unknown to them as of yet, was being familiarised to a life similarly sated with a rich pick & mix culture only 500 km away, in the city of Dubai, and previously Saudi Arabia, Italy and Albania. Kamal started a bedroom project in 2009 in which he attempted to make experimental music that captured the imagery and spirituality of far flung cultures. He recorded the first Flamingods tracks in his room, occasionally jamming and recording with other soon-to-be members. Having no specific scheme in place for the long term life of Flamingods, the next few years would see the eventual members relocating to the UK whereupon Karthik was discovered and quickly assimilated into the fray. A band identity had not yet formed but one fateful 8-hour chalet jam at the Animal Collective curated ATP Festival in 2010 later and Flamingods had officiallygraduated from its initial solo bedroom project in Bahrain to a fully-fledged band. Kamal said of it in an interview with Loud and Quiet, "We did actually start the band at ATP in 2010. We brought some instruments down to just jam with in our room, and then people walking past would be like, 'oh, we want to play too,' and it was just incredible because people were climbing in through our window, and I gave them pots and pans to play... it was just insane. We had 60 people crammed into our chalet and people dancing outside. It got a bit out of control and turned a bit dark. All the lights went off" with Sam adding "It was like a constantly changing band. People would leave but others would then come in. We couldn’t stop it and it turned into a monster of its own. It went on for eight hours." Flamingods recorded their first studio album in 2012 in Sound Savers Recording Studio in Homerton, London, and soon after teamed up with Art is Hard Records to release the album in January of 2013. The lead single "Quesso" featured former Ponytail and Ecstatic Sunshine guitarist Dustin Wong. "Sun” received positive reviews from Line of Best Fit who wrote "It is an album that deserves your attention. The complex and dense interplay of all the instruments create beautiful substrata of harmony and rhythm that makes each new listen as rewarding as the last" as well as from The 405 who in describing the band wrote "They are a five-piece based out of the UK, fusing together Asian polyphonic textures, African rhythms, and the occasional pop sensibility into something of a freak-folk blush”. https://flamingods.bandcamp.com/ https://de-de.facebook.com/flamingodsmusic/ https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=20237 Hafenklang Sun, 11 Jun 2017 00:00:00 12.06.2017 Hafenklang| Goldener Salon: Punkerstammtisch - Tischtennis-Rundlauf Eintritt frei! The initial lineup featured their Father John Juett on drums, who after a year of playing with his sons and recording a 3 song demo, stepped aside at the end of 2011 for the arrival of now permanent drummer Juston (Judge) Smith in 2012. This supersonic intergalactic Heavy Rock trio have been heavily touring consistently across the majority of the United States/Canada, and have successfully completed two tours overseas in parts of Europe and Scandinavia with goals of reaching Australia, Japan, and South America in the coming years.  Since its formation, Mothership has released two studio albums (Mothership - 2013 - Ripple Music) (Mothership "II" - 2014 - Ripple Music) and one live album (Live Over Freak Valley - 2015 - Ripple Music). The band has also been featured on the following compilation albums: "Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland [REDUX]" (performing "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" - 2015 - Magnetic Eye Records) and "Dazed & Confused - A Stoned-Out Salute To Led Zeppelin" (performing "Heartbreaker" - 2015 - Cleopatra Records). The band will be releasing its highly anticipated third studio album "High Strangeness" in Spring 2017. The band is best known for its highly energetic and infectious live show, their non-stop dedication to performing on the road, and their unique Texas brand of heavy rock & roll boogie, blistering guitar solos, and thick grooves many find hard to believe for a 3 piece band. Mothership came up not only in the local club circuit around Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, but also started out playing biker parties, car shows, and Harley Davidson sponsored events very early on as well. Mothership continues to be well tied into the car show/biker party scene having made appearances at Born Free 6 (2014), Vintage Torque Fest (2015), Iron Invasion (2015), and Giddy Up Vintage Chopper Show (2015 & 2016). The band was also featured in the March 2016 issue of Cycle Source Magazine. 2015 proved to be a very pivotal year for the band as they continued to gain notoriety with booking and successfully completing tours across North America with Crobot and Wilson on the "Drunk As Shit Tour", and with Corrosion of Conformity, Brant Bjork & The Low Desert Punks, and Saviours on the "Deliverance-Revival-Throwdown North America Tour". They also appeared live at Psycho California and landed a residency at the legendary Buffalo Chip for the Sturgis 75th Anniversary rally. Only a few months into the 2016 year, Mothership has already completed another successful tour with Corrosion of Conformity in the United States, as well as a European tour with Wo-Fat including appearances at both DesertFest Berlin and DesertFest London. The band performed at DIMEBASH in Los Angeles, CA in January, and were picked to open for UFO in Dallas, TX in March. They have already been confirmed for Electric Funeral Festival in Denver, CO, Psycho Las Vegas, and a few dates with legendary heavy metal band Anvil. The band has also been confirmed to perform on the Shiprocked Cruise in January 2017. http://mothershipusa.com/ https://www.facebook.com/mothershipusa/ https://mothershipusa.bandcamp.com/ https://de-de.facebook.com/yawningmanofficial/ http://www.yawningman.com/ https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=20231 Hafenklang Mon, 19 Jun 2017 00:00:00 21.06.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE Seit dem Beginn seiner Karriere vor über einer Dekate hat Justin Townes Earle sich den Ruf des Leitfeuers in der Americana-Musik-Community erarbeitet. It’s all about emotion and energy, experience and raw talent, spirit and intellect. Exciting things happen when these things collide. Bob and Lisa made the BellRays happen in 1991 but they weren’t really thinking about any of this then. They wanted to play music and they wanted it to feel good. They wanted people to WANT to get up, to NEED to get up and check out what was going on. Form an opinion. React. So they took everything they knew about; the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, the Who, the Ramones, Billie Holiday, Lou Rawls, Hank Williams, the DB’s, Jimmy Reed, Led Zeppelin, to name a very few and pressed it into service. It was never about coming up with a ‘sound’, or fitting in with a scene. It was about the energy that made all that music so irresistible. It was the history BEFORE Led Zeppelin that led them to that point. The Beatles thought they were playing R&B. It just came out like ‘Rubber Soul’. The Ramones were trying to be Del Shannon or Neil Sedaka and out came ‘Rocket to Russia’. With the BellRays there was no conscious effort to ‘combine’ rock and soul because they didn’t see them as divided in the first place. Blues was teaching. Punk was preaching. The BellRays were always listening. The BellRays have been working in the here and now for the last decade and a half, emphasizing commitment over concept, passion over pose. The group has its roots in Riverside, California, where Guitarist Bob Vennum and singer Kekaula grew up. They recruited Fate, an Indiana native who’d moved to the west coast, from another band on the Inland Empire bar scene, and Vennum switched to bass to accommodate him. "When we got together,” recalled Vennum, "we played one song and realized this stuff was going to be really, really good.” They released their first album, the R&B-laden In the Light of the Sun, on their own do-it-yourself label, via cassette. When these sought-after songs were finally reissued on CD, Rolling Stone called the work "lightning in a bottle...a mighty exhilarating ride.” The BellRays went through several drummers before Craig Waters permanently took over the spot. "If the BellRays can do anything for music,” Kekaula says, "it’s to dispel the idea that if you see a black singer that means she grew up singing gospel, she’s the soul element of a band that has white guys in it. Because that’s not the way it is. We’ve all got rock, we’ve all got soul, and all of us coming together to do that is what makes us sound the way we sound.” https://www.thebellrays.com/ https://www.facebook.com/BellRays?fref=ts https://coppersky.nl/ https://de-de.facebook.com/copperskymusic/ https://soundcloud.com/coppersky https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=20625 Hafenklang Mon, 03 Jul 2017 00:00:00 04.07.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: The Delta Saints Among rock ‘n’ roll’s many mistresses and muses, California remains one of the most enigmatic, enduring, and enchanting. The Golden State’s allure can notably be attributed to the intoxicating melodic excess of the Eagles’ "Hotel California” and the finger-picked pensiveness of Led Zeppelin’s "Going To California,” to name a few. The West Coast’s influence courses throughout The Delta Saints’ 2017 full-length album, Monte Vista. Irresistible lead single "California” snaps from a vintage synth swell into a rough-n-tumble guitar riff and bluesy howl. It’s an anthem for throwing caution to the wind, skipping town and setting out to find something more. "California has always been a sort of haven for the band both physically and emotionally,” says front man Ben Ringel. "We’ve got a home base at our guitarist Dylan’s grandmother’s house in La Jolla on Monte Vista Street. That’s where the album title comes from. When we wrote the song, we were in the middle of a dismal Nashville winter. We were all feeling the need to escape the cold, but also had this drive that had been building up over the previous year to really push ourselves beyond where we were. I think we all felt a bit stagnate, and ‘California’ is about us getting up and actually doing something about it.” The Nashville-based quintet—Ben Ringel [vocals & guitar], Dylan Fitch [guitar], David Supica [bass], Vincent "Footz” Williams [drums], and Nate Kremer [keyboards]—craft raw and visceral rock music with psychedelic flares, fuzzed-out guitar riffs, arresting drum patterns and blues tendencies over the course of 10 tracks produced by Third Man Records alum Eddie Spear [Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Chris Stapleton]. It’s the triumphant culmination of a long journey comprised of ceaseless touring in the United States and Europe and fan favorite records such as the crowd-funded Death Letter Jubilee in 2013 and 2015’s Bones. The latter yielded "Sometimes I Worry,” which landed a prominent placement on the most recent season of Showtime’s Shameless. It also spiritually set the stage for Monte Vista, an album brimming with a restless spirit and coming-of-age ruminations on life, love, self-discovery and the world at large. ... https://www.thedeltasaints.com/ https://de-de.facebook.com/thedeltasaints/ https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=20637 Hafenklang Tue, 04 Jul 2017 00:00:00 05.07.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: Zeke (USA) + Joe Buck Yourself (USA) "Ride With Zeke” has quickly become the mantra for music fans who have accepted the invitation brought on by Heckler Magazine when they said, "Welcome the new monsters of rock.” It’s no doubt true that West Coast punk / thrashers ZEKE are monsters. Ever since their very first gig at the Rock City in Seattle in 1993, people have had no choice but to pay attention. Their records will assault you, and their live show will batter you. ZEKE established a nasty disposition while cutting teeth on their own brash hardcore punk. ZEKE formed in 1993 with an original lineup of Blind Marky Felchtone, Donny Paycheck, Mark Pierce, and Dizzy Lee Roth. The band’s first release was 1993’s West Seattle Acid Party, a single on Wrecking Ball Records, followed by the Holley 750 single on IFA Records. ZEKE then set out to bring their energetic recordings to the stage and established a more than formidable reputation as "the live band to beat” via concentrated regional touring. The self titled single Zeke was then released on Scooch Pooch Records and was followed by the 1995 release Super Sound Racing. ZEKE was heralded as "Rock and Roll outlaws,” playing every conceivable venue that would have them. The release of the next full-length, Flat Tracker a year later ensured ZEKE had enough audio ammo to stay on the road for months on end. And tour they would… In 1997 Man’s Ruin Records issued the live album PIG to a rousing response. ZEKE then signed to Epitaph Records in 1998, releasing, Kicked In The Teeth. It was mixed and engineered by Jack Endino and the album’s increased distribution and availability found the band legions of white-knuckled new followers. In early 2000, ZEKE released Dirty Sanchez, which was recorded with Kurt Bloch of The Fastbacks. The album bludgeoned with tireless energy. Following the album’s release, bassist Mark Pierce left the band and was replaced by Jeff "The Kid” Matz. Throughout the time that ZEKE called Epitaph home, they toured relentlessly. The band paired up with anyone and everyone who would have them, hitting the road with the likes of Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), All, The Voodoo Glow Skulls, D.O.A., The Super Suckers and even a few dates with Pearl Jam. Their live shows rocked like this might be the last show ever. The band’s fifth full-length, Death Alley, was released in 2001. The album continued the band’s full-throttle approach, utilizing ZEKE‘s essential formula — a manic, methamphetamine lab distillation of early American hardcore and classic rock — to full effect. After leaving Epitaph and releasing 2003’s Live and Uncensored, ZEKE began writing new material and set out looking for a suitable label that they could not only feel at home with, but one that could handle their "balls to the wall” rock and roll and enjoy the band as fans first. A contract with Relapse was inked in October, 2003 and saw the band join an artist stable that are at once musically mated and touring compatible. ZEKE found their new home. ZEKE set the cruise control to "white hot” on their Relapse debut, ‘Til the Livin’ End. A relentless ride of rock and roll abandon, the album mixes punk nihilism with a hard hitting metal extravagance. It burns from start to finish, as super-charged guitars, electrifying leads and a raucous punk attitude race fullthrottle down a highway to Hell. Thank the gods of rock and roll, you’ve just met your new favorite band. Zeke has now reformed with a new lineup in 2016 and is currently working on a new ablum entitled "HELLBENDER” for release on Relapse records in early 2017, Look Out!!! https://de-de.facebook.com/ZekeBand/ http://zekeyou.com/ https://zekeband.bandcamp.com/ The once anti-Nashville based Joe Buck gained notoriety as the guitarist of Th' Legendary Shack Shakers. Drawing on influences from 70's metal, rock, and psychedelia, the band falls somewhere between an amalgamation of Black Sabbath, old Soundgarden, Deliverance-‐era Corrosion of Conformity, Mountain, and a bastardized version of Grand Funk Railroad. Their songwriting approach is clear; keep the focus on the hook. The band was formed in Los Angeles in 2001 by Philadelphia transplant Keith Gibbs (guitar, vox) and Detroit natives Rick Ferrante (drums) and Clayton Charles (bass). Upon Clayton’s departure in 2007, the guys recruited Chicagoan Jason Casanova (Behold! The Monolith, Tummler) to join the fold. The band’s music has been featured on a variety of movies and television shows including the reissue of Clerks, FX’s original hit series Sons of Anarchy, A&E's Dog The Bounty Hunter, Jersey Girl, CW’s The Supernatural, and MTV’s Viva La Bam, Bam’s Unholy Union, and Rob and Big. They can also be heard on a number of video games including NHL 2005, American Chopper, and Monster Garage. After shaking some walls with not one, but two, closely packed studio albums (conveniently named Sasquatch "I" and "II") in 2004 and ’06, the power trio went subterranean until 2010 before resurfacing with a new lineup and propulsive third opus (entitled, you guessed it..."III"), to the relief of many impatient fans and the Small Stone Records Board of Directors. The band’s latest album "IV” debuted in late 2013 followed by extensive touring in Europe and the US over the course of 2014. What fans hear is arguably the power trio’s most mature, inspired and diverse song-‐set to date, chunked with compositional twists, both heartwarmingly familiar and totally unexpected, plus thundering power chords, sizzling solos, shrewd melodic flights and even super-‐trippy moments – but all of it heavy on the heavy, as they say…always. Unprecedented attention was also devoted to spinning engagin new yarns out of those evergreen rock and roll stories about love lost, hate found, relationships built and lives trashed, homes wrecked, etc. In the summer of 2017, SASQUATCH will release a new album, and head to Europe again, so stay tuned for more news! http://www.sasquatchrock.us/ https://www.facebook.com/sasquatchrocks https://smallstone.bandcamp.com/album/iv https://www.tixforgigs.com/site/Pages/Shop/ShowEvent.aspx?ID=20639 Hafenklang Sun, 16 Jul 2017 00:00:00 16.07.2017 Hafenklang| Goldener Salon: Goat (Experimental / Avantgarde, JPN) Goat, previously comprised of guitar, bass, drums and saxophone, create music unlike many of the rock bands. Created out of the desperate need to save a dying genre of punk rock- during a time that the market was saturated with a more commercial new style. Along the side of a dedicated few other bands who believed in the dying genre and all that it represented- to them it was not only music- but a forum- to convey important political and social views. Total Chaos along with many others started organizations such as- UVP(United Valley Punks) OCP(Orange County Peace Punks) and AGC (Alternative Gathering Collective)- holding social events like- Food Not Bombs- giving support to the Big Mountain Indian Reservation and helping to open the Los Angeles Anarchist Center. The idea of social responsibility was a significant thing- from organizing peace punk picnics- to protesting against the Gulf War- their music had meaning and stood for something. In 1991 Total Chaos recorded their first demo- which led to their first 7 inch in July of 92 Nightmares(a live recording). In March of 93 they put out their first full length album Were the Punks- to promote the record they did shows around California- during that time word of the album reached Mexico City- leading to an offer to do a full Mexico tour with a band called the Yaps. With mostly sold out shows-the tour was deemed a success. Between sold out shows in the U.S. and Mexico- interest hit lead guitarist of Bad Religion and the owner of the biggest punk label in the world Epitaph Records Bret Gurewitz. Leading to the signing of the band in Sept. 93, Which allow them to reach the masses and help to bring back there Style of Music. (shortly after Gary Doom left the band and was replaced by Ron Mc murder) By Jan. of 94 the band was in the studio recording Pledge of Defiance still to this day being the hardest most political controversial album ever put out by Epitaph records to date. Total Chaos did 2 full U.S. tours- one of them being with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones with riots in some cities and states- clearly showing the impact of the message and the power of the response by the fans. Returning from tour the band went back into the studio to record, but while in the Studio Ron Mc murder was replaced due to hardcore Drug use- so (old friend of the band)Shawn Smash was hired- leading to a masterful collaboration- ending with the creation of Patriotic Shock. They hit the road in June of 95 with the legendary Battalion of Saints in many shows- because of Total Chaos- strong anti- racist material and social political message- made the tour not easy- with national racists organizations showing up at every show, many death threats, even the album being banned in Japan- regardless of all the opposition, they did not falter and the message was still being expressed. In the summer of that year the band does their first European tour- which was bigger than anyone expected- with sold out gigs all across Europe- ending up at the legendary Chaos Days in Hanover, Germany. Not schedule to play (the police would not allow it) but lucky because of a folk rock festival (The Harvest Festival) that was playing in a local park- where swarms of punks met to later attend the Chaos Days- discovered the bands arrival and literally threaten the promoter- with violence and destruction of property if the band was not allowed to play (amazing fans)- so they played- with one of the band members (Shawn Smash) German-fluent in the language- spoke - stating Lets Riot as the intro to the legendary song Riot City- unfortunately the riot cops showed up right after the song and the literal Chaos Days begun (the show made national headline news throughout the world). Shortly after returning to the states "Gearbox” left the band due to family problems- being replaced with "Suzy Home wrecker”- the band decided and after 3 hardcore albums they would choose a more classical style of 70s/OI! punk rock record- leading to the creation of Anthems form the Alleyway. Again to promote- the band headed out for a full U.S. and European tour- shows were completely sold out. By 97 the contract with Epitaph was up and negotiation for resigning due,- while recording new demos for the new album- the owner of Epitaph- "Bret Gruewitz” disappeared for 6 months and reappeared in drug rehab. Leaving the band in limbo and with a new president of the label Andy - which who the band did not see eye to eye with- lead them to leaving the label in late 98/or they just got booted no one knows for sure even the band - with a legacy of selling more than 150,000 records- unmatched by any in their genre at the time. also in "Suzy home wrecker” was kicked out because of heavy drug use and "Danny boy Virus” joined In by early 99 they agreed to put out 2 limited edition albums (In God We Kill and The Early Years) with Cleopatra records and hit the road for promotion with Blanks 77. After the tour was completed in 2000- they did their first Japanese tour and right after went into the studio to record Punk Invasion produced by multi-platinum producer "Jim Faraci”. They put out the album on their own formerly named label Reject Records shortly after "Joe Bastard” left the band after his 4 child was born being on the road was to much for a man with a big Family-so "Todd Trash” replaced "Joe” and the band hit the road for several tours in Europe and the U.S., later to be invited to play the Warped Tour in 2002. After the Warped tour- the original drummer Gearbox returned to the band. By the beginning of 2003 Rob Chaos started to do promotions and bookings for other bands such as The Lower Class Brats, Funeral Dress, Blanks 77, Mike Blanks and the Stads and many more, but at the same time "Todd Trash didn’t work out so he left and the Return of "Gearbox” on drums. In Fall 2003 Rob Chaos went into partnership with Ezzat Soliman owner of the Showcase Theater and Showcase Productions- birthing a new label SOS Records. Because of his strong street credibility- Rob Chaos has been able to procure legendary bands for the label such as The Exploited and Conflict- a quote from Wattie of Exploited after returning to the states after 12 years to do a full U.S. with Total Chaos, the only reasoning why I came back was because of Rob Chaos- a huge compliment from a man and a band that Rob grew up listening to and respects highly. In Nov. of 2003 the band went back into the studio with a new bassist- "Charlie” former guitarist of political hardcore band Life’s Halt - during a crucial time in the United States history- and this is clearly reflected in the bands music- there are strong battle cries all over the album which emerge so intensely- it is not matched by any. The album is entitled Freedom Kills again with strong promotion- Total Chaos has just completed sold out shows with the most legendary bands of all the punk rock genres- from the Adicts to Exploited ( nationally televised riots in Canada- due to border rejection of both bands) to Conflict- setting them apart and displaying their caliber and quality. In 2006 the band Signs to German label (People like you) and puts out a Complication of all the songs over the years and added 7 new tracks as well, at the same Time "Dede” Gearbox wife joins the band on Bass, so the band hit the road in Europe and the tour was a total success, the next year 2 more tours in the USA, Japan, South America, Canada, and Europe, the band went back in the Studio the record (Avoid all sides) at the same time SOS records closed down, so the band signed a new deal with Punkcore records for USA/Canada only and released it in Europe on (people like you) with more tours and even more areas like China, South east Asia, Mexico, south America, the band was on a roll. In 2010 the band went back into the studio to start recording the 10 song album "Battered and Smashed," which was being recorded very slowly (not rushed at all). During this time "Miguel Conflict," from the band Social Conflict, joins the group on drums, Recording for the album was finally completed and mixed in March of 2011, and is being released through Concrete Jungle Records, and Stomp Records. Then toured the world like crazy for the next 4 years, to start working on there new record "world of Insanity” which was released in the USA Nov 2015 and Europe in March 2016, and put out 3 music videos for it, along full worldwide tours, brings us to this, in this new era the message is stronger than ever before- there is a sense of urgency coming from the band- regarding social and political reform- it oozes from their music and is undeniable to any that listen. After 27 years Total Chaos has grown as a band and has seen many come and go- but they have always kept their original ideals of what their genre of music is all about- which hasn’t been proven to be easy- during a time of mirages and deceit. Regardless of what you believe, whether you are pop punk, street punk, hardcore, straight edge, political punk, goth punk, skate punk, crust punk, metal punk, straight punk rock (the list goes on and on)- Total Chaos style of music can unify them all- bringing them back to one scene and that is PUNK ROCK! Founded by long-time friends Nicholas DiSalvo, Jack Donovan and Matt Couto, the group spent years plodding in Sabbathian territory, releasing their self-titled debut in 2008. In the years that followed, Elder took a surprising turn away from their more traditional stoner rock roots, incorporating uplifting melodies and progressive song structures into their lengthy epics. The release of 2011’s Dead Roots Stirring sent ripples through the underground and established the band as one of the genre’s most interesting and experimental. Between lengthy hiatuses where DiSalvo resided in Germany, Elder continued writing, taking in inspiration from travels and experiences in non-musical territory. 2012 saw the release of Spires Burn/Release EP, the next chapter in the group’s progressing mindstate. In the following years Elder toured the U.S. and Europe several times, culminating in the release of their live album Live at Roadburn 2013 from the Dutch festival’s 18th edition. Lore is the third full-length album by Elder and a watershed moment in the band’s history. Joining the interplay of heaviness and melody which has become the hallmark Elder sound are a host of new meanderings through uncharted kosmische territory; krautrock, prog as well as classic heavy rock and doom can all be heard unfolding throughout the record’s five songs. By giving equal credence to riffs and atmosphere, Lore bypasses genre constraints, the group’s penchant for progressive songwriting and melody shining more brightly than ever. https://de-de.facebook.com/elderofficial/ https://beholdtheelder.bandcamp.com/ https://kingbuffalo.bandcamp.com/ http://kingbuffalo.com/ https://www.facebook.com/childtheband https://childtheband.bandcamp.com/ Hafenklang Mon, 24 Jul 2017 00:00:00 26.07.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: Hexvessel (Psychedelic Forest Folk, FIN) Hier haben sich Musiker aus den unterschiedlichsten Genres zusammengefunden um ihre ganz eigene Vision von psychedelischer Musik auf die Bühne zu bringen. Formed in 2013 across two continents and three countries, TAU CROSS is the natural evolution of Miller's work in Amebix. Tribal rhythms, searing guitars and Miller's huge booming voice are all set to an apocalyptic atmosphere that will satisfy the crustiest punks as well as the blackest metallers. Tau Cross refuses to be pigeonholed, affirming the respective legacies of its members – the band delves into the realms of gothic rock, industrial, early doom, post-punk, and prog rock alongside its crust & thrash roots. The band’s self-titled debut was recorded in 2014 and released in May 2015, and immediately found widespread critical reception. Cvlt Nation called Tau Cross "a thundering sonic journey, conjuring magic and darkness from the listener’s soul,” and Metal Injection stated, "Tau Cross has absolutely killed it and we are all better off for having this album in our collective lives,” while Invisible Oranges described the record as "never losing a penchant for strong song writing” and warned listeners to "ignore it at your own peril.” Tau Cross may have set a high standard for its first record, but if the band has proven anything so far, it’s that they are incredibly skilled at meeting – and exceeding – expectations. Following the release of Poshlost, Palermo met Brandon Setta, who would bring lush, rich soundscapes and a fresh approach to Palermo's vision for NOTHING and to the band's next two EPs, Suns And Lovers (Big Love, 2011) and Downward Years To Come (A389, 2012). NOTHING then signed to Relapse for their debut 2014 full-length Guilty Of Everything. The album, which was inspired by the events surrounding a prison sentence Palermo served from 2002-2004, found widespread critical acclaim from publications such as Rolling Stone, NPR, Stereogum, Spin, Noisey, and many others. Guilty's reception also enabled the band to tour Europe and North America extensively, including performances at festivals including Osheaga, Roadburn, Firefly, Budweiser Made In America, and SXSW. Following a tumultuous series of events that left the band personally and professionally distraught, NOTHING experienced a drastic change in mindset, which is clearly apparent in the band's new record Tired Of Tomorrow. Tired Of Tomorrow was recorded over the course of a month at Studio 4 with Will Yip (Title Fight, Superheaven, Touche Amore, etc) this past October, and is the band's most heartfelt work today. Borrowing from personal memoir and external works alike, NOTHING have worked the deepest influences of their youth & maturation into a package that's ultimately at its most relevant in the present day. Tired Of Tomorrow is a brooding yet mellow release, inspired as much by 90s rock as it is by the darkness of NOTHING's past. NOTHING is: Domenic Palermo Brandon Setta Kyle Kimball http://bandofnothing.com/ https://www.facebook.com/BANDOFNOTHING Kapitan Korsakov – dangerously abbreviated to KKK – are back! After taking a break to focus on his other band Raketkanon, Pieter-Paul Devos (vocals / guitar) gathered his bandmates Pieter Van Mullem (bass) and Sigfried Burroughs (drums) to go camping in Chicago's Electrical Audio Studios and record the successor of the latest Kapitan Korsakov album "Stuff & Such" (2012). "Physical Violence Is The Least Of My Priorities" is recorded and mixed by kindred spirit Steve Albini and show Kapitan Korsakov at their best: an eclectic mix of uncompromised noiserock, catchy melodies bathing in a mudpool of distorted sounds and heartbreaking songs. "There are no genres in music. There is only good, sincere music and there is bad music", says frontman Pieter-Paul Devos. Honest songwriting, authenticity and disregarding all things fashionable are Kapitan Korsakov's trademarks. Quite the relief in times of mediocre radio-pollution. http://www.kapitankorsakov.net/HOME.html https://www.facebook.com/kapitankorsakovband https://soundcloud.com/kapitankorsakov https://twitter.com/KapitanKorsakov https://www.facebook.com/cokepiss?fref=ts https://cocainepiss.bandcamp.com/ Hafenklang Fri, 11 Aug 2017 00:00:00 12.08.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: WobWob! presents: Soukah (Rarefied/Silent Motion Records) Hafenklang Sat, 12 Aug 2017 00:00:00 16.08.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: Boris "We don’t feel comfortable calling Dear a return to our slow and heavy style,” says Tokyo’s amplifier worshipping experimental metal institution Boris. "We’ve been heavy since day one.” And it’s true. From the droning thunder of their Absolutego debut and through the cinematic crescendo of albums like Flood, the bombastic licks of the Heavy Rocks records, the punk rage of Vein, the bottom-dwelling psychedelia of Akuma no Uta and Pink, and the grimy thump of Attention Please and New Album, Boris has always attempted to search out new ways to level listeners with their sound. On the 25th year of their existence, the trio delivers Dear, an album they describe as "heavenly—far beyond heavy.”   Though Boris has traversed a broad swath of sonic territories, they have always been consistent in their embracing of excess, pushing their myriad of approaches and stylistic forays to points of intoxicating absurdity. But a time came in the early years of their third decade where the band wondered if there were any new horizons for the band to explore. Consequently, it was decided that the band would begin jamming on material for what was planned to be a record that served as a formal goodbye to fans. In a strange twist of fate, being unencumbered by expectations and having an open-ended approach to the writing process reinvigorated Boris. The renewed vitality yielded an album that fortifies their monolithic wall of sound while also allowing the individual band members to explore the nuances and intricacies of minimalist riffs played at maximum volume.   Album opener "D.O.W.N. –Domination of Waiting Noise-" sets the tone for the record’s glacial pace and seismic rumble with vast swaths of sustained chords underscoring oscillator pulses and Takeshi’s soaring vocals. Songs like "DEADSONG”, "Kagero”, and "The Power” take the glacial doom of their early records and broaden the expanses of empty space to allow the chirp of amplifier tubes, the groan of strained speaker cabinets, and the sizzle of cranked distortion to transform their dirges into macrocosms of textures. It was a premeditated strategy, with the band deliberately scaling down on instrumentation in order to allow more color, detail, and tension to emanate from their protracted riffage. The galloping chugs and acidic guitar leads of "Absolutego” provide the most rock-oriented moment of the album, even though the song’s crushing timbre is cataclysmic even by the most down-tuned and heavily doped stoner rock standards. Brief moments of respite from the dimed amplifiers can be found on songs like "Beyond” and "Memento Mori”, where the band juxtaposes their deluges of fuzz with hints of ethereal dream pop. http://borisheavyrocks.com/ https://de-de.facebook.com/borisheavyrocks/ https://boris.bandcamp.com/ Präsentiert von: Visions, Slam, Metal.de, Allschools Hafenklang Wed, 16 Aug 2017 00:00:00 07.09.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: THE MOVEMENT (DK/Mod/PowerPop/Punk) THE MOVEMENT wurden bereits im Jahr 2002 in Kopenhagen von Lukas Scherfey ins Leben gerufen. The band's name translates literally to, "we're home now" but, as an idiom, means something more like, "well, there we go" in Czech conversation. The band has, to date, released seven proper studio albums, two live albums, a best-of package and a DVD containing live footage and a documentary about the history of the band, which discusses its artistic significance and chronicals its dozens of lineup changes in its 30+ year career. In addition to traditional band functions such as recording albums and touring, UJD have taken on a wide array of ambitious projects, including work with theater, film and art. They collaborated very closely to the world famous band The Residents on their Freak show and felt in friendship with them and many other great musicians all over the world (Tom Cora, Amy Denio, Jello Biafra, David Thomas etc) Band tours frequently whole the world, from first foreign show in Germany till now they visited more than 40 different countries, major part of them took USA (more than 700 shows in almost all states), but as well as Japan, New Zealand, Israel, France, Poland, Russia etc etc. The band's approach to arrangements is unique in the world of rock. They bring the instruments and vocals in different directions within the same scales and keys to create a dense melodic atmosphere. In addition, their rhythms often accent off-beats and half-beats, throwing the listener in unexpected directions. The music seems to be an exhausting juxtaposition between beauty and ugliness, as songs will frequently shift between modes to create tumultuous, powerful hooks (a good example of this is the song "Hollywood.") The band is also fond of shifts between time signatures and the insertion of extra beats in the shaping of the mood of the song. Wanek's lyrics have earned him a reputation as a respected Czech poet. His lyrics have been described his writing as "an axe for the frozen sea inside us," a line taken from fellow countryman and influence Franz Kafka. All lyrics are translated to English, Polish and French language, too. Artist Martin Velisek, the non-playing UJD member, has been published in several volumes and enjoyed popularity outside of his work with UJD as well. His unique, absurd cartoon style, replete with alarming flourishes of realism, gruesomeness and beauty, gives UJD records their distinct look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cExycI4zLiY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwFCv423Bxw Audfio - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzFgsVPHTcw Hafenklang Thu, 21 Sep 2017 00:00:00 23.09.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: Destination Kingston Hafenklang Sat, 23 Sep 2017 00:00:00 28.09.2017 Hafenklang| Hafenklang: WINDHAND Special Guest: SATAN'S SATYRS Erstmals seit ihrem Auftritt auf dem ‘Doom Over Leipzig‘ Open Air am 10.
